MTA New York City Transit is looking for dedicated Bus Operators to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of passengers. This role involves operating transit buses while prioritizing passenger safety, following traffic laws, and adhering to transit schedules. 

Responsibilities include:

• Collecting fares and issuing transfers

• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

• Completing transit-related reports

• Working flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Applicants must pass a multiple-choice exam and demonstrate strong customer service skills.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• No formal education or prior experience required

• A valid New York State driver’s license for at least three years before the appointment

• A Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement or a Learner’s Permit for a Class B CDL (must obtain a full CDL during training)

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and medical evaluation

• Completion of a structured training program and probationary period

• Subject to random drug testing

• Strong skills in written comprehension, problem-solving, spatial awareness, and customer service
